Electrophysiology Lab

The electrophysiology lab diagnoses, pinpoints, and treats problem areas related to the heart’s electrical system. At our lab, cardiac electrophysiologists use the latest, high-tech equipment – including three dimensional mapping - to detect complex heart-rhythm disorders such as:

  • Atrial fibrillation and/or supraventricular tachycardia – a condition that affects the upper heart chambers
  • Atrial flutter – a condition that affects the upper heart chambers
  • Ventricular tachycardia – a condition that affects the lower heart chambers
  • AV-nodal reentrant tachycardia
  • Cardiac arrest

The electrophysiology lab is also used for diagnostic studies such as catheter ablations, and device implantation for pacemakers, defibrillators, and resynchronization therapy devices.
