While we work hard to follow your birth plan, occasionally unexpected events happen. Our staff will inform you and your family of any problems that arise during labor, and will recommend any changes that may be necessary. We have a full array of medical equipment that is quickly accessible to assist you and your baby, and in the event of more serious problems, our neonatology staff is standing by 24-hours-a-day.
Should a caesarean birth be necessary, we have two operating rooms located on the unit. Following the birth and during your recovery, you will remain near your baby.
Should your baby require monitoring in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), he or she will be cared for by the most experienced team in Montgomery Country. The neonatology team at Conroe Regional Medical Center consists of board-certified neonatologists and fully-trained support staff. Your baby will also have access to board-certified physicians in several specialties, including surgery, cardiology, endocrinology, urology, and nutrition.
Should your baby require a higher level of care, he or she will safely and efficiently be moved by our Neonatal Transport Team.
Sometimes, premature babies have to stay with us in the NICU after you have been discharged. Realizing how difficult this can be, our Camper Program provides moms a room in the postpartum unit, availability permitting.
