Level II Trauma Capable Hospital Awarded the Best in Category

Conroe, TX, February 2, 2016— Conroe Regional Medical Center (CRMC) announced today that it received the prestigious 2016 Trauma System of Care Award from Southeast Texas Regional Advisory Council (SETRAC). Nine hospitals in SETRAC’s jurisdiction applied for the Trauma System of Care Award. Conroe Regional Medical Center accepted the award at SETRAC’s inaugural banquet with 600 first responders, healthcare providers and government leaders in attendance.

“The 2016 Trauma System of Care Award recognizes the hospital and medical staff’s commitment to providing the highest level of care for our patients. We are committed to providing patients with timelier access to potentially life-saving trauma care,” said Matt Davis, Chief Executive Officer.

What the award means:
The Trauma System of Care Award recognizes Conroe Regional Medical Center as the best of nine hospitals in the SETRAC region for the excellence in the development and advancement of major trauma services.

Why is it important:
A SETRAC funded study indicated that Montgomery County would need a Level II Trauma Center to meet the needs of the growing population. CRMC was recognized even before attaining a Level II trauma designation, an effort it hopes to attain by mid-2016. In order to achieve designation, the hospital has added surgical and support staff to offer 24/7 trauma service in orthopedics, ophthalmology, facial trauma, plastics and anesthesia. The hospital also provides extensive services in neurosurgery and interventional radiology care.

How does the general public benefit:
Potential patients and family members benefit because they are able receive life-saving trauma care more quickly without having to be transported outside of their community.
