Upon arrival at the emergency room in Conroe, you will immediately be placed in a room, if a room is available. A triage process is initiated to help determine the order in which patients will be seen. While our goal is to quickly screen and assess all patients, the most critical patients receive priority – whether arrival is by ambulance or walk-in.

Emergent or higher-acuity patients will most likely receive care in the main emergency room for conditions or injuries including:

  • Chest pain
  • Burns
  • Complex fractures
  • Mental confusion

Patients with non-life threatening or lower-acuity conditions are screened as quickly as possible through our rapid-intake process. Lower-acuity illnesses will be managed in our intake area until discharge. This helps ensure you receive the appropriate level of care in a timely manner. Low-acuity conditions and services include:

  • X-rays
  • Laceration repair/sutures
  • Minor bone fractures/splints
  • Flu-like illness
